Milne Cup and Speedway Legends
Legends Reunion!
Former National
Champion Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz collected the Jack
Milne Cup for the second time in his illustrious career
on Legends Night at the world famous
Costa Mesa Speedway.
Schwartz, starting from the pole position, made the best
start and led the field into turn one. Under 21
National Champion Ricky Wells chased Schwartz down the
back straight but began experiencing mechanical problems
as they entered turn three. Last week’s winner, Shawn
“Mad Dog” McConnell took over second and chased after
the leader. Schwartz was not going to be caught,
though, and he led all the way to the checkered flag.
McConnell settled for second, Jimmy Fishback was third,
Shaun Harmatiuk finished fourth, and Wells was credited
with fifth.

off the deck twice and won a wild Spring Classic Scratch Main
Event at the first event of Costa Mesa Speedway's 40th season.

Tim Gomez scored the biggest win of his career by capturing
the Scratch Main Event in front of a large crowed as the world
famous Costa Mesa Speedway officially
opened its 40th season.

Harleys
Jimmy Fishback won the first Scratch Main Event of his career
in front of an overflow crowd on Orange County Harley Davidson
Night at the world famous Costa Mesa Speedway. National Champion
Billy “The Bullet” Hamill entered the main event
undefeated and had first gate choice. Hamill surprisingly
took gate two. Faria quickly selected gate one.
Ricky Wells picked gate three, Buck Blair chose gate five,
which left Fishback with gate four.

7th 2008 Speedway Racing - AMA Nationals Rd 1  Billy Janniro began his quest for
his first AMA/USA Speedway National Championship with a perfect
night at Round 1 of the 2008 AMA Sports/USA Speedway National
Championship Series at the world famous Costa Mesa Speedway.
Janniro's perfect score entitled him to first choice of starting
position in the A Final and he picked gate one. Three-time
National Champion "Flyin" Mike Faria chose gate
two. Under 21 National Champion Ricky Wells selected gate
four, this left defending National Champion Billy "The
Bullet" Hamill with gate three.
